Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know

What is DoRe Ranch and Rescue all about?

DoRe Ranch and Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on farm animal rescue, cat/kitten TNR efforts, and cat rescue and adoption.  We are located in Kershaw County, SC.

How can I donate to DoRe Ranch and Rescue?

Visit our Donate page.  It includes links to donate via Cash App, PayPal, and Venmo, along with links to our Amazon and Chewy wish lists.  You can also visit our Linktree page to see available donation options.

Where do my donations go?

We are 100% volunteer based, so all donations received go directly toward the care, upkeep, housing, and vetting of all our animals here on the ranch.

What animals do you currently have at DoRe Ranch and Rescue?

We currently have 5 donkeys, 10 goats, 6 pigs, approximately 20 fowl, 20-30 pet/indoor cats waiting to move to adoption spaces at any given time, 8 indoor cats in sanctuary status, a colony of ~75 rescue feral/barn cats (most of which were pulled from euthanasia lists!), and 11 dogs.

What is TNR?

TNR stands for Trap, Neuter, and Return.  With TNR, the cats are humanely trapped; spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped; and returned to their original location.

Why TNR?

TNR is a cost-effective, humane way to help control the feral cat (also known as the community cat) population.  Did you know that just one unaltered male and female feline pair and their offspring can produce well over 350,000 kittens in just 7 years!?

I need assistance with a feral/community cat colony.  Can you help?

Please complete our TNR Assistance Request form.

Do you have cats available for adoption?

We always have barn cats available for adoption.  We currently have indoor/pet cats available also.  Visit our Adoption page to submit an adoption application.
